[5 Days To Launch] Game Boy Micro
The final iteration of the Game Boy line, the Micro was the most streamlined handheld produced by Nintendo.
Baring a striking resemblance to a Famicom controller with the addition of a center screen, it was certainly the most portable console of the series.
The console was essentially a slimmed down version of the GBA SP and was only able to play GBA titles.
The Micro also featured interchangeable face plates which made for some funky customisation of the device’s facade.
The backlit screen was probably one of the console’s strongest features as it offered far superior visual quality than its predecessor.
In the end though, the Game Boy Micro simply did not have the steam to propel itself into the realm of Nintendo’s projected sales figures.
With the DS series firmly establishing itself as the next generation of handheld gaming consoles, the Game Boy Micro sadly found itself becoming obsolete after a very meager two year bout.
The era of the Game Boy had finally come to an end.
